1981 SE Racing PK Ripper [SOLD]

This was the third build that I finished, a 1981 SE Racing PK Ripper. The frame was bought on Ebay from the UK and was stripped of a tatty, white spray job and powder coated a candy blue, by PWS Finishing. The Tuf Neck stem and the SR Sakae pedals were painted by Khameleon Custom. The Takagi Tourney cranks were NOS, bought from Poland, still in their packaging. The Dia-Compe MX1000/880/Tech 3 brakes were powder coated in orange, as was the Landar seat post clamp. The Viscount Aero seat is vintage, not mint, but very nice and the Strong seat post was NOS from Japan. The SE Power Wing bars and Landing Gear forks are retro. I left the bars in their original chrome, but had the forks powdered with the frame. The Skyway grips and Tuff IIs are also modern repops. The decals are custom made, as is the padset. This bike was stripped and sold in February 2013 to fund another build.I really wish I'd kept the frame from this build.

  2. Here is a guideline for identifying your PK by serial number...

    2xxxx = mid 1979
    3xxxx = 1980
    4xxxx = 1981
    5xxxx = 1982
    6xxxx = 1983
    7xxxx = 1984

  3. if you're still monitoring this post, did you restore the takagi cranks and chainring by stripping and anodizing it? or is that powder coated?

    Also, do you know if the takagi chainring, spider and cranks are originally anodized aluminum?
