1980 Mongoose Motomag [SOLD]

This is my nickel plated 1980 Mongoose Motomag. The frame still has its original nickel finish...I just gave it a clean and polish before mounting the rest of the parts. The Motomag II wheels are also in great, original condition. There was some surface oxidisation on the wheels but I didn't want to over-sanitise this bike. The rear Motomag II is equipped with a Bendix 76 coaster brake. The Mongoose stamped Sugino snowflake was NOS, as were the Rat Trap pedals and black anodised fluted seat post. The seat was a vintage Troxel and the seat post clamp was Mongoose stamped. The bars were made by Dorcy. I had these powder coated by PWS Finishing in satin black along with the Ashtabula stamped cranks, stamped forks and unstamped stem. The build was finished off with decals from BMX Products, Winner's Circle grips and a Mongoose stem pad. In June 2013, this bike won the Retro Goose bike of the month competition. I split and sold this bike in September to start a new PK Ripper build.

1984 Mongoose Californian [SOLD]

This bike was bought from a member of RADBMX almost as you see it here. The frame and forks have been painted a British Racing Green. The wheels are very nice Pro Class alloy rims laced to Suzue sealed bearing hubs. The bars are Pro size, but I don't know the maker. The seat post is vintage Hutch, the seat is a vintage Viscount Aero. I added a vintage Dia-Compe MX seat post clamp. The stem is a Mongoose stamped ACS. I added an NOS Sugino chain ring, an NOS Pro Class Powerplate, plus black powder coated, Mongoose stamped Takagi cranks and some NOS SR MP-470 pedals. The bottom bracket is also Mongoose stamped. I finished the build off with a Mongoose pad set. This bike was sold in March 2013 to fund another build, but I kept the pad set for when I finally track down a nice Supergoose 3...

1981 Mongoose Mitygoose [SOLD]

The bike was imported from the US. Most of it was kept and cleaned or restored. I swapped the wheels out for new Skyway Tuff IIs, the rear has a coaster brake. The frame and forks were painted a candy blue by Khameleon Custom. The bars were done in satin black. The stem was a mix of both black and blue. NOS 80s pedals and repop Duro Comp III tyres were added and I bought a new seat. The grips were also replaced with Mongoose grips from BMX products. They also supplied the replacement decals.  A custom vinyl padset was made by EssenDesign.
